It now prefers `curl` and transparently falls back to `wget`, preserving the streaming `download | tar` fast path for `.tar.gz` and `.tar.zst` installs on Linux/macOS. Proxy support is unchanged — both tools honor `HTTP_PROXY`/`HTTPS_PROXY`.
